Amendment to the Flame-Producing Lighters Quality Control Order, 2024.

The Central Government has issued an amendment to the Flame-Producing Lighters (Quality Control) Order, 2023, under the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016. This amendment, effective upon publication in the Official Gazette, includes revisions to Paragraph 2. Key changes are:

 

  

Sub-paragraph (2) and (3) will replace the phrase "Provided that nothing" with "Nothing." A new sub-paragraph (4) will allow domestically manufactured or imported lighters produced before the amendment's commencement to be sold for up to six months, provided the manufacturer or importer declares this with certification from a Chartered Accountant to the Bureau.
