The Central Government, under the powers granted by section 11A of the Prevention of Money-laundering Act, 2002, has authorized certain entities to use Aadhaar authentication. This decision is based on the entities meeting the privacy and security standards set by the Aadhaar Act and after consulting with the Unique Identification Authority of India and the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India. Specifically, Go-Digit Life Insurance Limited and Acko Life Insurance Limited are permitted to perform Aadhaar authentication for compliance with the Money-laundering Act.
