Bail Granted in Two Separate Fraud Cases by Supreme Court.


The Supreme Court has granted bail to petitioners in two distinct cases from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, both involving charges of fraud and forgery under the Indian Penal Code. In both instances, the petitioners had previously been denied bail by both the Trial Court and the High Court.

Case 1: Crime No. 550/2023, PS Mohanlalganj, Lucknow

The first petitioner was accused in Crime No. 550/2023, registered at Police Station Mohanlalganj, for offenses under Sections 420, 467, 468, 471 & 506 of the IPC. Having already spent approximately 18 months in jail, the Supreme Court, after considering the period of incarceration and the nature of the allegations, found a case for bail.

 

 
 
 

Case 2: Crime No. 20/2024, PS Nighoha, Lucknow (SLP(Crl) No. 7282/2025)

Similarly, the second petitioner, accused in Crime No. 20/2024 at Police Station Nighoha, faced charges under Sections 419, 420, 467, 468 & 471 of the IPC. This petitioner had also undergone about 18 months of imprisonment. The Court, after reviewing the duration of custody and the alleged offenses, deemed it appropriate to grant bail.

In both matters, notice had been issued and the State's counsel appeared before the Court. The petitioners are now directed to be released on bail forthwith under the usual terms and conditions to be determined by the concerned Courts. All pending applications in both petitions stand disposed of.
