The Central Government has set August 1, 2024, as the date when certain changes to the Public Debt Act, 1944, introduced by the Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Act, 2023, will become effective. These changes are specified under serial number 7 in the Schedule of the amendment Act.
