The court has reviewed the pendency of applications related to the scrutiny processes at Levels 2 and 3, noting 4989 pending at Level 2 and 2738 at Level 3, with 4445 objections at Level 2 and 201 at Level 3. The court acknowledged the ongoing case regarding the strengthening of bar associations, where the Supreme Court clarified that elections for High Courts or District Courts Bar Associations should proceed according to their respective constitutions and rules, without any interim stay.
Following this, the court has directed authorities to complete all formalities for the Delhi High Court Bar Association (DHCBA) election process promptly. Specifically, the authorities are ordered to expedite the scrutiny process and complete the disposal of objections by January 10, 2025. The elections for the DHCBA and all Bar Associations in Delhi are scheduled to be held on February 7, 2025, unless any legal constraints arise.
The decision reflects coordination between the relevant authorities, ensuring the election process is expedited while maintaining legal compliance.
