Designation of Competent Authorities for Notaries.

In accordance with sub-rule (1) of rule 4 of the Notaries Rules, 1956, and superseding the previous notification S.O.3191(E) dated September 3, 2019, the Central Government has designated two officers from the Department of Legal Affairs, Ministry of Law and Justice, as competent authorities. Smt. Renu Pande, Deputy Legal Adviser, is designated for matters related to rule 13 concerning notaries appointed by the Central Government. Shri Rajeev Kumar, Deputy Secretary, is designated for all other matters under the rules related to notaries appointed by the Central Government.
