ED Arrests Raju Ram Iram in REET Paper Leak Case.

20 July 2024

Jaipur, July 19, 2024 — The Directorate of Enforcement (ED), Jaipur Zonal Office, has arrested Raju Ram Iram in connection with the REET 2021 paper leak scandal. Iram was taken into custody under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002, following a detailed investigation into the illegal distribution of the REET examination paper.

Iram appeared before the Hon'ble Special Court (PMLA) in Jaipur, where the court granted ED custody for a period of three days for further interrogation. The arrest stems from a series of FIRs and charge-sheets filed by the Rajasthan Police, which allege Iram’s involvement in the leaking and dissemination of the REET question papers.

According to ED officials, Raju Ram Iram played a key role in the scandal by receiving the leaked REET 2021 papers from other accused individuals. He then distributed these papers to associates, who facilitated access to the leaked materials for several candidates in Jodhpur in exchange for substantial sums of money.

The investigation has been extensive, with the ED conducting searches at 32 locations between June and October 2023. These operations led to the recovery of incriminating documents, digital records, and a significant amount of cash. Prior to Iram’s arrest, the ED had already apprehended Pradeep Parasher and his assistant, Ram Kripal Meena. A prosecution complaint against Meena has been filed, and the court has taken cognizance of the case.

The ongoing investigation underscores the seriousness of the corruption charges surrounding the REET examination and aims to bring all involved parties to justice. The ED continues to pursue leads to unravel the full extent of the paper leak conspiracy.
