ED Attaches Properties Worth Rs. 1.6 Crore in Himachal Pradesh Scholarship Scam.

On March 11, 2025, the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) attached immovable properties worth approximately Rs. 1.6 Crore in connection with the Himachal Pradesh Scholarship Scam. The attached assets include a 500 square-yard land parcel in Mohali, Punjab, registered in the name of Aman Sharma, Director of M/s ITFT Consultancy Pvt Ltd. This company was involved in fraudulently claiming scholarships under the Post Metric Scholarship Scheme (PMSS) for SC/ST/OBC students of Himachal Pradesh.
The investigation revealed that the company falsified student records, including enrollment and caste details, to claim funds for non-existent or former students. These ill-gotten funds were used to acquire properties in the names of the accused and their family members. In previous actions, ED had seized Rs. 80 lakh in cash and froze Rs. 2.80 Crore in bank accounts. With an additional Rs. 29 Crore worth of assets already attached, the total provisional attachment in this case now stands at approximately Rs. 30.5 Crore. Gulshan Sharma, involved in the money laundering activities, was arrested on January 30, 2025, and is currently in judicial custody. The investigation is ongoing.
