On September 9, 2024, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested Laddi Ram in Jammu for his involvement in a narco-terrorism case connected to the funding of Hizbul Mujahideen's subversive activities. The Principal District and Sessions Judge in Jammu has granted the ED custody of Laddi Ram for four days. The investigation, which was initiated based on FIRs and chargesheets filed by the Jammu & Kashmir Police, uncovered a network involving drug smuggling and terrorism. Laddi Ram was found to have received and distributed cross-border smuggled drugs and sent illicit proceeds back to Arshad Ahmed Allaie, who used the funds to support terrorist activities. This arrest follows the earlier apprehension of key figures Arshad Ahmed Allaie and Fayaz Ahmed Dar in the same case.
