Extension of Ceiling Prices for Orthopaedic Knee Implants in India.

The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) of India has announced an extension of the ceiling prices for Orthopaedic Knee Implants used in Knee Replacement Systems. This extension, effective from September 16, 2024, to September 15, 2025, continues the pricing structure set out in previous notifications.

 

 

The ceiling prices are specified for various components of knee implants, including:

- Primary Knee Replacement System:
- Femoral components made of titanium alloy, oxidized zirconium alloy, hi-flex, and cobalt chromium have ceiling prices ranging from Rs. 32,063.79 to Rs. 51,562.94.
- Tibial components or trays made from similar materials are priced between Rs. 22,613.69 and Rs. 32,316.68.
- Articulating surfaces or inserts are priced at Rs. 12,711.05, and patellas are set at Rs. 5,443.79.
- Combined components (Tibial tray and insert) are priced between Rs. 17,249.76 and Rs. 35,332.73.
- Secondary Knee Replacement System (Revision):
- Femoral components are capped at Rs. 83,546.87.
- Tibial components or trays are priced at Rs. 41,553.82.
- Articulating surfaces or inserts are priced at Rs. 21,122.97, and patellas remain at Rs. 5,443.79.
The previously established Notes from Notification S.O. 2668(E) dated August 16, 2017, continue to be in effect.
