The Central Government has extended the designation of industries engaged in Iron and Steel as a public utility service under the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947. Initially declared as such for six months starting February 17, 2024, the designation has been extended for an additional six months from August 17, 2024. This extension is made to continue ensuring public interest as provided by the Act.
