The Central Government has declared certain industrial undertakings (like mints and printing presses) as public utility services under the Industrial Disputes Act. Initially effective from January 30, 2024, this declaration has been extended for another six months from July 30, 2024, to ensure essential services continue uninterrupted, citing public interest.
