Government Imposes Extended Anti-Dumping Duties on CPVC Imports from China and Korea.

23 August 2024
The Central Government has issued a notification imposing anti-dumping duties on Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride Resin (CPVC), whether or not further processed into compound. This follows a review conducted by the designated authority, which found that CPVC imports from China and Korea continue to be sold below normal value, causing injury to the domestic industry.

The anti-dumping duties are detailed in a table specifying various tariff items and corresponding rates, based on the country of origin, country of export, and producer. The duties range from 593 USD to 792 USD per metric ton, depending on the product type and source. The new measures replace the previous anti-dumping duties imposed in March 2020 and will remain in effect for five years unless revised earlier. The duties will be payable in Indian currency, with the exchange rate determined as specified in relevant government notifications.
