The Government of India, through the Ministry of Railways, has declared its intention to acquire land in Thane district, Maharashtra, for the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor project. The notification, published in the Gazette of India and newspapers in February and March 2024, confirmed that no public objections were received. Following the competent authority's report, the Central Government has officially declared the acquisition of specified lands, which will vest with the government free from encumbrances. The land includes various agricultural plots owned by private individuals, with details of the land area and owners provided.
