Government of India Acquires Land for Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor Project in Kaimur District.

The Government of India, through a notification issued by the Ministry of Railways on November 8, 2023, and published in the Gazette on November 10, 2023, declared its intention to acquire land in Kaimur District, Bihar for the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor project. The notification was also published in newspapers Hindustan and Dainik Jagran on November 16, 2023. No public objections were raised during the stipulated period.
Following this, and after receiving a report from the competent authority, the Central Government has formally declared the land specified in the schedule as acquired for the project. The land, detailed in the schedule, will now be vested with the Central Government, free of any encumbrances.
