Govt. Greenlights Land Acquisition for New Dahod-Indore Rail Line in Madhya Pradesh.

The Government of India, through the Ministry of Railways, issued a notification on October 24, 2024, announcing the acquisition of land for the construction of a new broad gauge (BG) railway line from Dahod to Indore, passing through Jhabua, Sardarpur, Dhar, and Pithampur, in Dhar district, Madhya Pradesh. The notification, published in the Gazette of India, indicates the intention to acquire land in Chikliya village, Dhar Taluka, for the execution, maintenance, management, and operation of the special railway project.

 

 

The process followed the legal framework outlined in the Railway (Amendment) Act, 2008, and objections raised by the villagers of Chikliya were reviewed and resolved. Upon the competent authority's report submission, the Central Government issued a declaration confirming that the specified lands are to be acquired. This notification also states that, following its publication, the lands will vest absolutely in the Central Government, free from encumbrances.

The lands under acquisition are outlined in the schedule, with detailed descriptions of the affected plots in Chikliya village, along with the landholder details. In total, 0.9538 hectares of land are being acquired.
