The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 mandates the Central Government to formulate accessibility standards for people with disabilities. The Department of Financial Services, in consultation with stakeholders and the Chief Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, has developed the Accessibility Standards and Guidelines for Infrastructure and Services in the Insurance Sector. These guidelines are designed to ensure that insurance-related facilities and services are accessible to individuals with disabilities.
