Key Updates on Railway Project Oversight in Jharkhand and West Bengal.

The Central Government, exercising powers under the Railways Act, 1989, has made amendments to two previous notifications concerning special railway projects. The amendments are as follows:
Notification S.O.3994(E), dated 17th September 2024:
The entry for the Illoo-Silli Bypass Line (5.9 km) in the table has been updated. It now lists the District Land Acquisition Officer, Ranchi, Jharkhand as the competent authority for the project, which affects both West Bengal and Jharkhand.
Notification S.O.2791(E), dated 16th July 2024:
The entry for the Bypass Line of M/s Tata Steel Ltd. (2.253 km, a deposit work) from Noamundi towards Padapahar-Jamkundia Dn. has been amended to list the District Land Acquisition Officer, West Singhbhum, Jharkhand as the competent authority.
These changes were published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii).
