The case of Kamla Devi & Others v/s State of Haryana & Others., revolves around the assessment of compensation for land acquired in Village Tauru, District Mewat, by the State of Haryana through notifications issued under Section 4 and 6 of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894, on 11.02.2011 and 10.02.2012, respectively. The issue at hand is identical to the matter decided in Civil Appeal No. 11758/2024, titled Horrmal (deceased) vs. The State of Haryana, wherein the Supreme Court had previously set aside the High Court's judgment that reduced the compensation. The Court had restored the compensation determined by the Reference Court, which had been based on a more accurate land valuation.
In this case, the appeal was allowed in line with the decision in Horrmal, thereby restoring the compensation awarded by the Reference Court. The Court also directed that the compensation, if not already paid, should be disbursed within eight weeks along with all statutory benefits, including interest.
