In Jhansi on 8th July, 2024, the Ministry of Railways has issued a notification announcing the acquisition of land for the "Jhansi-Khairar-Manikpur and Khairar-Bhimsen doubling Railway Project (411km)" in Chhatarpur District, Madhya Pradesh. This initiative aims to enhance regional railway infrastructure to improve connectivity and operational efficiency.

The notification, S.O. 2793(E), follows a previous announcement inviting objections, which concluded without opposition. As per regulatory procedures, the Central Government has approved the acquisition based on the Competent Authority's report under the Railways (Amendment) Act, 2008.
