The Supreme Court has taken on record Special Leave Petition (Civil) Diary No. 5944 of 2025, filed by National Insurance Company Limited.

Another related petition, Special Leave Petition (C) No. 5945 of 2025, was dismissed as not pressed by the petitioner's counsel. The Court clarified that this dismissal will not affect the claimants' right to seek further compensation.

Crucially, the National Insurance Company Limited retains its right to pursue the issue of recovering compensation from the owner of the insured vehicle involved in the accident. This matter will be heard in Special Leave Petition (Diary) No. 5944 of 2025, and its progression will not be prejudiced by the disposal of the other petition.

Finally, Special Leave Petition (C) (Diary) No. 5944 of 2025 has been disposed of, along with any pending applications.
