The Central Government intends to declare the Nicholson Statue and its surroundings outside Kashmiri Gate in Delhi as no longer of national importance under the Ancient Monuments Act, 1958. Interested parties can object within two months to the Archaeological Survey of India in New Delhi, and objections will be considered before a final decision is made.
