The Government of India, through a notification issued on January 24, 2024, and published on January 29, 2024, announced the intention to acquire land in Valsad District, Gujarat, for the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor project. This notification, based on the Railways Act, 1989, was also covered in newspapers on March 12, 2024. No public objections were received, and a report from the competent authority has been submitted to the Central Government.

Consequently, under the Railways Act, 1989, the Central Government has officially declared that the lands listed in the annexed Schedule are to be acquired for the project. Upon publication of this notification, these lands will be transferred to the government free of any encumbrances. The Schedule details specific plots of agricultural land owned by various individuals, with precise locations and areas listed for each.
