The Central Government, exercising its powers under the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016, and after consulting the Bureau of Indian Standards, has issued an amendment to the Cotton Bales (Quality Control) Order, 2023. This amendment, known as the Cotton Bales (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2023, specifies that the Order will take effect on August 27, 2025, rather than immediately upon publication in the Official Gazette.
