Revised Ceiling Price Notification for Chloroquine Tablet under DPCO, 2013.

11 September 2024
The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) has updated the ceiling price for Chloroquine Tablets (150 mg) in accordance with the Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 2013 (DPCO, 2013). The new ceiling price is set at Rs. 1.33 per tablet, an increase from the previous Rs. 1.17, reflecting a Wholesale Price Index (WPI) adjustment of 0.00551% for 2024.

Manufacturers are required to adjust their prices to align with this new ceiling, plus any applicable Goods and Services Tax (GST). If a manufacturer’s current price is below the revised ceiling, they should maintain it. They must update their price lists and submit them to the NPPA and relevant authorities. Retailers must display the updated prices prominently. Non-compliance will result in penalties and potential financial liabilities. This order supersedes any previous pricing directives for the drug.
