Special Leave Petition >> Civil & Consumer Law
A Special Leave Petition (SLP) was denied by the Supreme Court in the matter of E.M. Chandran v/s Chandroth Tharavyayi Haji & Others, which upheld the High Court's ruling and determined that there was no reason to interfere. However, the Court granted the petitioner time to leave the contested premises by December 31, 2025, with several restrictions:

- By September 30, 2025, all rent arrears must be paid.
- For each month until possession is turned over, occupation charges must be paid in advance at the predetermined rate.
- Within four weeks, the petitioner must submit an unconditional commitment under oath to the court, committing to leave the property on specified terms.
The respondents will be free to start contempt proceedings and pursue any other legal remedies if the petitioner doesn't cooperate, and the temporary protection will automatically end.
All pending applications were also disposed of.
