Supreme Court Cancels Detention Order, Sets Appellant Free.

The Supreme Court has granted leave to appeal and ruled in favor of the appellant, who had challenged a detention order issued by the District Magistrate, Junagadh, Gujarat. The appellant's petition for a writ of habeas corpus was initially dismissed by the Gujarat High Court in July 2024. However, upon reviewing the case, the Supreme Court found no evidence suggesting that the appellant's speeches had disturbed public order, thus rendering the detention order unsustainable.

As a result, the Court set aside both the Gujarat High Court's judgment and the detention order from February 2024. The appellant was ordered to be released immediately.
