Ramprasad Nayak's appeal against the Chhattisgarh High Court's refusal of anticipatory bail in relation to FIR No.0003/2025 under Section 20(b) of the NDPS Act was taken up by the Supreme Court. The appellant had no prior criminal history, the trial was moving slowly, and only two of the thirteen witnesses had been questioned, the court remarked. Custodial interrogation was deemed superfluous.

As a result, the court granted the appeal, overturned the High Court's ruling, and ordered that the appellant be freed on bail with terms to be decided by the trial court in the event of an arrest. The Court made it clear that the decision does not address the case's merits and warned the appellant not to sway witnesses. All pending applications were disposed off.
