Supreme Court Stays Gujarat High Court Order, Tags with Pending SLP.
The Supreme Court has issued a notice in A.V. Ravi Kumar v/s Institute For Plasma Research & Others, returnable in eight weeks, concerning a Special Leave Petition. Dasti service is also permitted, and steps for service are to be taken within two weeks. The notice will inform respondents to file a counter affidavit before the next listing date.
Notably, the Court has stayed all further proceedings pursuant to the common order dated May 8, 2025, in R/Special Civil Application No. 1285/2023 and its batch, which was passed by the High Court of Gujarat at Ahmedabad. This decision comes despite the dismissal of several similar Special Leave Petitions, because another Special Leave Petition, SLP (C) No. 16321/2025, has been entertained and an interim order passed in it. Given this, the Court sees no point in directing the petitioner to pursue an intra-Court appeal before the High Court. The current petition will be tagged with SLP (C) No. 16321/2025.
