New Delhi, August 21, 2024: The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) warns citizens about fraudulent pre-recorded calls claiming to be from TRAI. These calls falsely threaten disconnection of mobile numbers and request personal information. TRAI does not initiate such communications or authorize third parties for this purpose. Disconnections due to billing or misuse are managed by individual Telecom Service Providers (TSPs). Citizens should ignore these calls and verify any concerns by contacting their TSP's customer service. For reporting suspicious communications, use the Chakshu facility on the Sanchar Saathi platform at (sancharsaathi.gov.in](https://sancharsaathi.gov.in/sfc/). For cybercrime incidents, contact helpline '1930' or visit [cybercrime.gov.in](https://cybercrime.gov.in/).
