Updated Toll Fee and Collection Guidelines for NH 548A in Maharashtra.

23 August 2024
The Government of India has delegated the management of National Highway No. 548A in Maharashtra to the State Government. Consequently, the Central Government has imposed a fee on mechanical vehicles using the highway section from Indapur to Agardanda. This fee is set at 60% of the base rate specified for the year 2007-08 for different vehicle categories, as outlined in Table 1.

The fees are to be collected by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) at a designated fee plaza located near Usadi village. The fee rates vary depending on the type of vehicle, with additional provisions for monthly passes and multiple journey passes. For vehicles registered within the district of the fee plaza, the fee is reduced to 50% if no alternative routes are available.

For overloaded vehicles, an additional fee is required, and such vehicles must offload the excess before using the highway. Definitions and fee details are governed by the National Highways Fee Rules, 2008. Fee rates and any applicable discounts will be adjusted annually and published in newspapers.

The estimated capital cost of the highway project is approximately Rs. 388.71 crore, subject to changes based on various factors such as land acquisition and GST. The NHAI will track the recovery of these costs through the collected user fees.
